If there was one photographer who live and very much showed his love for the place where he lived in it's Gyula Halász or more commonly known as George Brassaï or Brassaï for short. A Hungarian artist who did a lot of creative work like making sculptures, films, drawing and above all photography. Brassaï first worked as a journalist for a Hungarian newspaper but later moved to Paris wherein he stayed there for all his life.

2012 has been both a good and a bad year for me in terms of photography work. Good because I believe that I have improved at least, acquired new gear, got heaps of books and learned new things. Bad because I wasn't able to shoot that much unlike 2011.
Now that 2012 is coming to a close I would like to commemorate this one hell of a year by recollecting some of my favorite images that I have taken and the stories behind it.

Sorry for the late upload! I haven't been able to shoot that much since my last post because I have been focusing all my energies at work.
Sounds
So last October 20, I head out to Autonomy Music Bar for Black Kath Prod gig. I really missed shooting gigs like this one. I was doubtful if I will be able to get great shots since it was my first time in Autonomy Bar, I have no idea how the lights work, space and above all I haven't shot a thing prior to this gig.

Obando, Bulacan is best known for the "Fertility Dance Festival" wherein couples who wants to be blessed with a child dances as they sang praises to Sta. Clara hoping that their prayers will be heard and be granted. Magu, Miko, Gerome and me went to Obando to witness the festival at first hand and to capture photos of the people and the life in Obando. A big thank you to the Avena and Mendoza Family and to our friend Ervin Avena for being a great host and tour guide.

I'm having a great time shooting street photos because apart from telling a story I also get to interact with people from different walks of life. I will be heading back again in Quiapo this week to capture images for our final assignment in FPPF.

I ventured out alone to Quiapo today to try my take on street photography since I was so inspired by a handful photographs that I saw yesterday and after reading this.
I also learned a very valuable lesson today: Never shoot in raw when doing street photography, bah too late for regrets well at latest I got nice photos.
