Photography Inspiration: Andrey & Lili

Every time that I go out shooting fashion editorial I do always check the works of duo Andrey Yakovlev (the photographer) &  Lili Aleeva  (the art director) for inspiration. I love their work because it is so polished to perfection. To me their photos are not just some high fashion image but its more of a painting, it is gorgeous and it lingers in your mind. There is no doubt that these duo's work is a good source of photography inspiration.

I love taking photographs of women and to quote a colleague of mine "Women are more aesthetically pleasing than men." Which is true for me at the very least, maybe it is because of the curves or that look that they gave you or maybe its the way they do things.

For today we are going to celebrate the raw beauty of women with Henrik Purienne's work. Henrik Purienne is not just a photographer he is also the founder and editor of Mirage Magazine. I like the way his photos look because its gorgeous, simple and will make you want to see more. His work somehow reminds me of the movie Dazed and Confused which young, wild and carefree.

I figure that for today's post I won't do any much of a introduction since most photographers know this guy and shame on you if you don't know him (better check this guy out and buy his OneLight DVD). Today I'll showcase some of Zack Arias' work. He is one of my photography heroes after watching his OneLight DVD. I learned how to use my flash better (so much better to be honest) as well as how to work on assignments. I have some much stuff to say about his work but enough of me I'll just sit back and let you look on some his awesome work.

Alright I won't bug you anymore so here it is.
Just Zack Arias

Nice right? So you better look up on his other stuff here.

Daily Photography Inspiration: Rarindra Prakarsa

Picturesque is one of the many words that pops in my head every time I see one of the images made by this day's feature photographer. Rarindra Prakarsa's works are much like an old master's painting stunning and timeless. Much of his work that I have seen features the colorful and tranquil life in the rural areas in Jakarta, every time I look in Rarindra's work I often feel that I should pack my bags, head out to somewhere remote and take photos of the people and encapsulate their stories in a frame.

Check out his other photos here.

I have been shooting photographs close to 4 years now and have looked into a different variety of images and photographers for inspiration. As part of my search to find my vision I would like to share to you guys some of the images that inspire me to shoot or images that I find inspiration for my next photography project. Every day I will post 1 photographer and 5 of his work that I find compelling and visually stimulating.

So first off I'll share you one of my all time favorite fashion photographer:

She is very pretty too.
Nicoline Patricia Malina is from Indonesia and her works are like very cinematic, rich, vibrant and full of energy. Her works are often showcased in ELLE, Harper's Bazaar as well as Maxim. I find her work to be one of a kind since most of the fashion editorial photos that I have seen are very couture, abstract mostly visually appealing I usually move on to the next but with her it always has a story and every time I looked at it there is always this soundtrack that plays inside my mind while looking at it and for some reason the image lingers in my head.

Lust for Love in Harper's Bazaar
A Journey of Inseparable Love in Harper's Bazaar
Immigrant Jakarta ad campaign
The Highland Adventures in Cosmo Girl
Twisted Nerve this one is her personal work
